Description

Monster Name: Dunkleosteus terelli
Approximate Size: 10 m (33 ft)
Dungeon(s) Found In: The Subterranean River

Despite it's hilarious name, Dunkleosteus was no laughing matter. A little larger than an orca, this fish was an apex predator! It had a heavily armored front and sharp, bladelike plates in its mouth. As its appearance may suggest, D. tirelli was a slow but powerful swimmer. Asotus and their riders should use their speed and agility to their advantage when facing this ferocious fish!

When I first heard about the The Asotus MONSTER Contest!, I knew I wanted to do a prehistoric sea critter of some sort. Something fish-y, but not shark-y. Thus, after research and much giggling about its name, I decided on the Dunkleosteus! Of course, this prehistoric fish existed well over 360 million years ago. What it's doing in the dungeon and how it survived is beyond me! -Flails-

I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with a straight profile view instead of one where the fish is all... bendy. But we'll see how I feel after sleeping on it!

amazing depiction of an underappreciated fish, I love the soulless expression of its eyes, the dynamic pose, truly a living engine of death
